  Carried out research related to power electronic converters fully funded by the SURE scheme. Succesfully designed a 50W charge pump converter from scratch in order to be used in LED lighting applications. Simulations in various environments were carried out and a PCB was designed and printed. Managed a budget and carefully planned the orders of required components. Extensive testing with successful outcomes confirmed the predictions of my 3rd year dissertation.

  October 2010 - December 2010

  Member of a 4 student group who visited the premises of TATA steel in Scunthorpe, UK to propose a solution to the plate tracking issue of Siemens VAI's MULPIC rolling plate machine. Gained valuable knowledge about large scale industrial automation, various types of sensors and their operation as well as their applications in control systems.

• Design and Planning Intern at AV Solutions (Cyprus) Ltd

  Worked as an electrical design intern, assisting the company's owner and chief engineer. Involved in the planning and design of audiovisual systems and Crestron automation control systems. Gained valuable experience by using Autodesk's AutoCAD suite to design the drawings of various projects the company carried out.
